Classic Castle: Fire Breathing Fortress

Here is another older castle, 6082, the Fire Breathing Fortress of 1993. I honestly had not planned on getting this set, but I came across a good deal on eBay and couldn't resist. This is part of the Dragon Master sets, a group of dragon-using knights led by Majisto the wizard.

The fortress is on the raised mountain/island base plate that numerous other sets used at that time. Unlike the Black Knight's Castle, this set does not wrap around the base plate but just sits on the top part. While therefore less extensive in pieces, the set does look quite nice when finished.

The main door is at the top of the path, and the immediate interior has some space with a prison and stairs going to the main platform and tower.

Above the entrance path is an unusual dragon head with tiny wings and breathing fire out its nose. This head can swing left and right. It's goofy yet strangely appealing...
There's a cool tree growing along the outside that merges with the fortress. Honestly, if the tree was absent I would think much less of the overall design :P

The rest of the interior space, including the hole in the middle, is the dragon's lair. There's also a space to store a treasure chest here.

There aren't a large number of minifigs, but the fortress might look too cluttered with more. One of the knights comes with a horse. The dragon and wizard are always nice to look at.
